A better way to finance residential solar and storage.

About SolSource

SolSource is a residential solar and storage finance company focused on reducing complexity in third-party ownership. We do this through Propel, our prepaid financing solution that replaces escalators and hidden fees with a predictable payment structure.

By combining transparent agreements, fixed payments, and a clear path to system ownership after five years, SolSource delivers financing that is easier to understand, easier to offer, and built for long-term reliability.

A new approach to solar financing

Introducing Propel

Propel is the flagship financing product offered by SolSource, designed to combine the simplicity of cash and loan purchases with the advantages of third-party ownership to capture the value of federal tax credits. It creates a more predictable path to solar adoption while preserving a clear pathway to long-term ownership.

How Propel works

Recent policy changes have made it harder for homeowners to claim federal tax credits when purchasing a system directly. However, those credits remain available when a system is owned by a third party. Propel is designed to preserve that value while still providing a clear path to ownership.

1. Choose Propel financing

Homeowners select Propel, SolSource’s prepaid financing solution, which uses a third-party ownership structure to capture the value of the federal investment tax credit and incorporate it into overall project economics.

2. The project is prepaid using cash or financing

The customer's lease or energy services agreement — reduced by the federal tax credit — is paid in full to SolSource at installation. Homeowners may prepay using cash or obtain financing through TriBeam Financial with fixed monthly loan payments.

3. SolSource owns the system and manages installation

SolSource serves as the third-party owner during the agreement term and installation is coordinated by SolSource through its network of trusted installers.

4. SolSource operates and maintains the system

SolSource offers a performance guaranty and a limited warranty on the system, as well as offering claims support for customers who need to address warranty issues.

5. Easy path to ownership

Customers have the option to transfer ownership of the system from SolSource to themselves after five years without any changes in their monthly payments, creating a seamless transition to long-term ownership.
